Zinc in testes

Zinc is an important cofactor in many metabolic reactions with the body. Zinc deficiency in childhood leads to improved development of the male sex organs; the boy’s penis may not develop to full size, and his beard and auxiliary hair may be less full than normal.

In addition, zinc has been implicated in testicular development, sperm maturation and testosterone synthesis. Therefore, zinc deficiency may affect testosterone production and male fertility.

Testosterone is a steroid hormone that is produced by specific glands in both sexes. It influences or regulates both sexually related and non-sexually related mechanism. Testosterone exhibits these influences by binding to receptors in several tissues of the body.

Testosterone is responsible for sex drive in both men and women and it is the home that’s stimulates human desire for sexual activity and organism.
